Travelando Brasil is a Brazilian travel magazine. Our English edition is written for international visitors planning a trip to Brazil. This page explains how we choose topics, how we research and update our guides, and how the magazine is funded.
How we choose what to write about
We focus on the questions international travelers actually search for, and on topics where good information in English is hard to find: park fees, entry rules, how to get between places, when to go and what is different for foreign visitors. Popular destinations get complete guides; lesser-known ones get practical guides built around the decisions you need to make.
How we research our guides
- Official sources first. Fees, entry rules, park tickets, schedules and opening hours are checked on the websites of Brazilian government bodies, national parks, airports, transport companies and attractions.
- Every changing fact has a date. Prices are shown in Brazilian reais (BRL), with an approximate US dollar figure and the date they were checked. Information that has not been announced yet is marked as “to be confirmed”.
- Research is not first-hand experience. Our English guides are the result of research and editorial selection. We only say a place was visited or tested when that actually happened.
- Traveler ratings with a source. When we mention ratings from Tripadvisor or Google, we name the source, the number of reviews and the date. We never copy or invent reviews.
- No machine translation. English guides are written for international readers, not translated automatically from our Portuguese edition.
How we keep guides up to date
Guides are reviewed regularly and updated when a rule, fee or schedule changes. If you find something outdated or wrong, write to [email protected]. We check it and correct the guide.
How the magazine is funded
Travelando Brasil is free to read. Some pages include affiliate links: if you click one and make a booking or purchase, we may earn a commission from the partner. The price you pay is the same.
- Partner links are marked next to the booking buttons and at the start of articles that contain them.
- Commissions do not decide what we recommend. Destinations, tours and services are chosen because they are useful for the reader.
- At the moment, the English edition may include links to Airalo (eSIM), GetTransfer (airport and private transfers) and DiscoverCars (car rental). Some links are tracked through the Travelpayouts affiliate network. This list is updated when partners change.
- Prices, availability and conditions are set by each partner and can change. Always check the final details on the partner’s website before you pay.
Our independence
We do not accept payment to change our opinion of a place or service. Sponsored content or paid partnerships, if there are any, will be clearly labeled as advertising.
